Stamp – Standardized Data Management Plan for Educational Research
The Standardized Data Management Plan for Educational Research (Stamp) offers concrete support for the planning, implementation and realization of research data management. The Stamp promotes compliance with the FAIR principles (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (meta)data) and increases the quality, data sharing and reusability of research data, in line with the idea of Open Science.
Structure and content
The Stamp (Version 1.0, 2024) is published as handbook, so far only available in german . It consists of:
- Starting Guide: Nine questions guide researchers through research data management.
- Planning aids: The planning aids contain an overview of the data management milestones and help with calculating costs.
- Data management plan template: The template can be filled out and adapted for use in project applications.
- Checklists: The checklists contain specific tasks that need to be completed as part of research data management. Within the checklists, researchers are provided with references to further information
- Documentation aid: The inventory list serves as a template for organizing and documenting files and data – both within a project and for transfer to an RDC.
- Standards: The Stamp defines seven standards in the areas of research ethics, data protection, copyright, data organization, traceability, data sharing and long-term preservation.
- Legal requirements: In the context of data protection (GDPR) and copyright law (UrhG), the legal foundations of data management in the social sciences are discussed in more detail.
- The handbook is supplemented by case studies: The case studies describe data management measures and their implementation as examples of fictitious projects.
