Research Data Centre Qualiservice

Qualiservice’s data portfolio covers the entire range of qualitative social science research data: In addition to interview data, it includes in particular ethnographic material such as field notes and observation protocols, mixed-methods data, image and sound material as well as audiovisual data. We are constantly expanding our portfolio in cooperation with the specialist information services for social and cultural anthropology, sociology and political science.

Qualiservice continuously collects qualitative data from various disciplines conducting social research and makes it available for re-use. The current database can be viewed in the Qualiservice search portal.

Qualiservice supports researchers in all phases of the research process. Qualiservice enables researchers to prepare and document their data during the research project in such a way that the data can later be curated, archived and used for further research (cooperative data preparation). In the multi-year cooperative data preparation process, Qualiservice accompanies the researchers throughout the entire research process, usually from the application stage onwards, providing support with questions relating to informed consent, the development and implementation of an anonymization concept and the contextualization of the research materials.
