The Research Data Centre for Education (FDZ Bildung) at DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education is a central access point for educational scientists and educational researchers with regard to archiving and provision of research data and assessment instruments from qualitative and quantitative research. In this role, FDZ Bildung acts as a partner in the national alliance, Verbund Forschungsdaten Bildung. At FDZ Bildung, relevant datasets and instruments are made accessible for secondary analysis via a central repository, in compliance with data protection regulations. The service is complemented by context information concerning the respective studies’ data and instruments, and linked publications.

Data Offer

  • We provide observation data (e.g. lesson videos) and interview data and related material. Registered users can download available anonymized transcripts, coding and descriptions.
  • We provide questionnaires, scales and tests.

Data Access Mode

  • Registered users can download available anonymized transcripts, coding and descriptions.
  • Re-usage of original audio and video data is only possible for scientific purposes, subject to registration and application including a specification of a research intent.
  • Questionnaires and individually indexed scales (item batteries) are openly accessible.
  • Only registered users can access test instruments, upon separate request.
