Statement: RatSWD in favour of planned register census law

The German Data Forum (RatSWD) has commented on the draft law on the introduction of a register census (Reg-ZensG-E) as part of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI) consultation process. The German Data Forum welcomes the draft and at the same time points out that the data requirements of research in Germany should be taken into account in the legal basis of the register census. In the view of the RatSWD, the stabilisation of the address register, the use of an identification number and the development of education statistics are particularly important.
