New information platform for crisis and disaster research launched: Krisendaten.de
The online portal improves access to crisis and disaster-related data for social science research.
As part of the KonsortSWD – NFDI4Society and the funded project “Vulnerability, Preparedness and Resilience in Crises” and with the support of a working group of the RatSWD, an information platform on data relevant to crises and disasters has been launched. The platform is now available online at krisendaten.de.
The new platform aims to improve the accessibility and usage of data that is important for the empirical study of crises and disasters from a social science perspective, such as health crises or natural disasters. At the core is a collection of resources that includes information pages, data sets and survey instruments. These resources are carefully categorised, described and linked to serve as valuable sources of information for researchers and interested stakeholders.
The collection depends on the active participation of the community, which is why all interested parties are invited to report relevant projects, initiatives and data portals. The aim is to continuously expand the platform and thus provide a comprehensive overview of available data infrastructures in the field of crisis and disaster research.
