70th Meeting of the German Data Forum (RatSWD) on 16 and 17 May 2014 in Berlin

On the 16th and 17th of May 2024, the 70th meeting of the German Data Forum (RatSWD) took place in Berlin, this time with a focus on European data policy due to the upcoming European elections.

The guests were Dr Ruth Brand, President of the Federal Statistical Office, who gave a presentation on the EU Statistics Regulation, and lawyer Dr Kristina Schreiber, who presented other current EU data legislation.

An exchange on the topic of mobility data took place with Professor Bert Leerkamp from the University of Wuppertal and Professor Ralf Münnich from the University of Trier. The RatSWD also discussed the latest developments regarding the Research Data Act and finally adopted its new electoral rules.

On the fringes of the 70th Rat meeting, the RatSWD working group ‘Data Infrastructures for Crises’ also met for an on-site working session.
