Task Force Ethics

In line with its task of contributing to the reflection of research-related values and standards, the German Data Forum (RatSWD) is dedicated to the current challenges of ethics committees in its disciplines. The focus is on three main points: Ensuring how appropriate assessments (ethics reviews) can be guaranteed given the increased number and heightened requirements for ethics reviews. In addition, with a view to the research data life cycle, the aim is to examine how research ethics issues can also be addressed in the later phases of the cycle, for example in archiving and subsequent use. A third focus is integration into European and international initiatives. To this end, the German Data Forum (RatSWD) is developing sustainable structures under the heading “Research Ethics Forum” and is preparing a corresponding proposal for submission to the German Research Foundation (DFG).
