Further development of crime statistics and legal data

RatSWD working group in the 6th appointment period (2017–2020)

Legislators, scientists, and practitioners require valid and well-developed crime statistics and criminal justice data. The German crime statistics system only partially meets the requirements of its various user groups. It requires optimisation in a number of ways. The German Data Forum’s working group will develop recommendations for implementation in the short, medium, and long term. The aim is also to re-evaluate the guidelines developed by the working group “Optimisation of Existing Criminal Statistics Systems“ in 2009. On the basis of this implementation evaluation, the working group will develop updated recommendations.
